You start with €20: your own €10 in the cash balance, their €10 in the bonus balance. The bonus has to be wagered 35× before it moves across to cash, which on a €10 bonus is €350 of bets — 350 spins at €1 each.
Until that is done, the whole balance is tied up, your own tenner included. In the terms' words: "You will be unable to withdraw any amount from your account until you've either met the wagering requirements or played through all funds in the Bonus Account." With €20 to play and €350 to bet, the balance has to last a long time; if it runs out first, the bonus goes with it.
Only slots count in full towards the wagering, and not all of them: NetEnt slots and progressive jackpots are left out. Roulette, most blackjack and table poker count at 8% of each bet, and baccarat at nothing. The match also has to be claimed in time — "All new players have 7 days from the date their account was opened to claim" it.
The €3 bet that can cost you the bonus
The limit everyone quotes is the one on a single bet while a bonus is being wagered: €8 a round, "and 50c per line". The same terms set a second, lower limit under the heading of "irregular play": "placing single bets equal to or in excess of 30% or more of the value of the bonus credited to your account until such time as the wagering requirements for that bonus have been met".
On a €10 deposit the bonus is €10, so that line sits at €3. A spin anywhere from €3 up to €8 is inside the published maximum and still counts as irregular, and the casino "reserves the right … to withhold any withdrawals where irregular play has occurred". The rule scales with the bonus. For any bonus under €26.67 it is the stricter of the two limits, so it matters most to the smallest deposits.
Six times the first deposit: a €60 ceiling
These casinos cap what a welcome bonus can pay out, and they tie the cap to your first deposit: "you will be limited to a maximum withdrawal value of 6 times your first deposit amount and any remaining balance will be forfeited." Make that first deposit €10 and the most you can withdraw is €60 — 6× first deposit. As we read the clause, bigger deposits later in the welcome package do not raise it; it is fixed by the first one.
The same sentence carries two qualifications. The cap "will only be applied at the discretion of casino management", so it may not be enforced, though nothing tells you in advance whether it will be. And "All progressive wins are exempt from this clause": a progressive jackpot is not cut down to €60.
150 spins for a €10 stake, with nothing to wager
Betway's casino offer for new customers in the Republic works the other way round. You choose the offer when you register, deposit €10 by debit card and stake it on the casino. Only then do 150 spins at €0.10 each arrive — €15 of spins, on a short list of named slots, Eye of Horus among them, to be used within 7 days. What they win carries no wagering: "any winnings accrued can be withdrawn at your discretion".
Two things decide whether it is worth it. The order: your €10 is staked first, as your own money, so the offer costs at least whatever that stake loses. And the payment method: the terms say "Debit Card deposit only (exclusions apply)". Paying by PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard, MuchBetter, Trustly or bank transfer does not qualify. €10 gets you in; the bonus wants more
At both 7Bit Casino and KatsuBet, a €10 deposit goes through but the welcome bonus starts at €20. Put in €10 and it lands as plain cash, with no bonus wagering attached to it. For a player who only wants to try the games with a small deposit, that is not a bad outcome.
